WHEN YOU CALL

Appointments

Initial appointments may be made by calling the Presbyterian Counseling Center at 336-288-1484.  Counseling sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length.  Appointments depend your schedule and a therapist’s availability.  In general, appointments are available Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Limited evening appointments are also available.

What is the Cost of Counseling?

The fee for psychotherapy is $110.00 for a 50-minute session.  The cost of an initial Diagnostic Evaluation is $125.00.   You may inquire with our staff about the cost of Medical assessments.  In many cases it is possible to have psychotherapy partly paid by health insurance.  The Presbyterian Counseling Center also has a subsidized fee scale based on income for those who do have health insurance.

The cost of counseling will be discussed when you contact our office.

Will my insurance cover my counseling?

In most cases your health insurance may provide payment for part of your therapy.  It is the responsibility of the client to verify coverage and obtain authorization from your insurance carrier.  Payment of co-pays/deductibles is expected at each session.  The therapists and medical personnel at PCC are recognized by most major medical insurance plans and employee assistance programs.  They are covered by insurance plans such as Tricare, Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Great West, Medcost, United Behavioral Health, First Health, Magellan, Cigna and many others. …….

What does the subsidized fee scale mean?

The subsidized fee scale at the Presbyterian Counseling Center is available to anyone who does not have health insurance benefits or who is unable to pay the $110.00.   The sliding fee scale rate is based on the gross family income.  You may use current pay stubs and or your income tax forms to verify income.

Payment Options and Insurance:

Payment is expected at the time of service.  Payment may be made by personal check, cash, Visa, Discover, or MasterCard.  Any checks returned due to insufficient funds (NSF) will result in an additional charge of $25.00.  The amount of the check, the $25.00 charge and unpaid balance of the account must be paid in cash prior to scheduling the next session.

The Presbyterian Counseling Center accepts most major health insurance plans.  You can find out if we are a part of your insurance network when you call our offices. Before your first visit with your therapist, we will contact your insurance company to verify your benefits, identify your co-pay obligation, and any deductible you have left to satisfy.

If the Center is not part of your carrier's network, you may have out-of-network benefits that cover part of the cost of counseling.  Occasionally an insurance carrier will make an exception to the out-of-network exclusion because of a desire for faith-based counseling.

We are a Medicare provider.  We do not accept Medicaid at this time.

Regardless of insurance, the client is responsible for all deductible amounts, co-payments, and balances that remain unpaid by the insurance company.

Cancellations:

Cancellations with your therapist should be made at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel a scheduled appointment.  You will be charged for an appointment that has not been canceled with a 24-hour advance notice or if you miss an appointment.  Insurance does not pay for missed appointments.

Your First Visit

Arrive at least 20 minutes in advance for your first appointment so that you can fill out the required paperwork.  When you arrive for counseling, we hope you will find our waiting room to be warm and comfortable.

The goal for the first meeting with your therapist is to connect with you, find a comfort level, and answer whatever questions you may have about the process of counseling.  Your counselor will seek to identify the issues or concerns you would like to address in counseling and begin to formulate a plan for treatment with you.
